Cream Filled Nutella Strawberries
Many people have been strawberry picking the past few weeks, so it’s perfect timing to repost my favorite Strawberry Recipe for Cream Filled Nutella Strawberries. If you are shopping for strawberries in the store, this is the perfect time to find the lowest price available and remember to price match at Walmart. Strawberries have long been one of my favorite foods. My kids would agree with that statement and it seems that we go through them very quickly. I never made filled strawberries before, so I am going to try this simple recipe to make them look more like a special treat.
- 2 pounds Strawberries
- 16 oz. (2 8oz packages) of Cream Cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla (or try a little almond maybe? Just use a lot less!)
- Graham Crackers, crumbled
(1). Wash and dry the strawberries. I just laid them in a dish towel, and gently dried them off.
(2). Cream together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Set aside.
(3). Next, place a berry on it’s green hull. Using a knife, cut straight down the berry, through the center. Be careful to not cut all the way through! You want the berry to hold together. Make another cut, so that both cuts together form an “X” ontop the strawberry.
(4). Place cream cheese mixture in piping bag (or Ziplock with a corner clipped out), and squeeze contents into the strawberry. This may take a couple of attempts to get it really looking good. There’s a little learning curve to getting the filling to ooze out of those berries evenly, and still look good! Everyone at our house thought even the practice berries looked like food meant for royalty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Keep trying if you must serve perfect looking berries. More “mistakes” = more samples. Never a bad thing in my book. 🙂
(5). Sprinkle berries with graham cracker crumbles.
(6). Place some Nutella in a little ziplock baggie with the end snipped off. Pipe Nutella over top of graham cracker crumbles.
