Timmy Town Center Review

Did you know that there is a hands on touch museum for kids right in Scranton? Yes, that’s right,Timmy Town Center! Located in the Steamtown Mall, located 2nd floor between Gertrude Hawk & Bon Ton.  Open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 10am-4pm and Sundays 12pm-4pm. Timmy Town allows kids  achance to play dress up, play Puppert Theater, Farmer’s Market, create crafts and is very educational with a “rading center” and Multicultural Exhibits.


The cost is only $3.00 per person and children under 2 are free. You know that I am always looking for the best deal.  There are two annual memberships, individual for $25 that include unlimited visits for a named individual for one year and advance notice of upcoming Timmy’s Town Center events.  The second deal, which I actually purchased and feel that it’s worth every penny, costs $100 and includes admission for up to 5 members to Timmy Town Center and other children’s museums across the country.
A TTC family membership also includes enrollment in the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Program, which allows for free admission for a minimum of 4 family members from the same household to almost 200 ACM museums in the Reciprocal Program network. So, not only can your family get unlimited admission to Timmy Town, but the  following museums as well:

The admission for the Please Touch Museum is $15 for adults and children, so right there you are getting your money worth. Plus, having the annual pass helps with ideas for rainy days.
My children love going to Timmy Town Center and making a day out of it.  Once you pay, you can leave for lunch and still come back into the center. Or, you can pack your own lunch and eat it at the mall. So really, you can spend the entire day at the mall.  Remember that the Trolley Museum is right behind the mall, so if you are traveling from out of town, you can spend the day in one area and still get the most bang for your “buck”!
