It’s A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place®! Open select dates November 23 – December 31. Join us for a one-of-a-kind family-friendly celebration with everyone’s favorite furry friends. The fun starts with three special Christmas shows, dry rides (weather permitting), awesome music and twinkling lights all around. Our street will glow with festivities and come to life at night with our illuminated Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade. And the fun continues with a special Christmas menu, super holiday shopping and of course, a visit with Santa.
We arrived at about 2:00pm, which was perfect because it wasn’t too crowded yet and the sun was out. I love seeing the kids’ faces when they first see how awesome the park is decorated. It’s really like a Christmas Wonderland. Every single part of the park is decorated, which made walking around so much fun. Of course, the kids love seeing their favorite Sesame characters (well, Jaxon still just likes to wave from a distance but that’s ok with us). The characters are throughout the park and also attend the special lunch and dinner events.
The kids loved the rides and didn’t complain once of the cold. We got there early to make sure that we did the rides while the sun was still out and then we ate a late lunch before watching the parade and walk the park to see all the neat lights.
My mother was such a trooper and waited in line with Jaxon for over a half hour before he decided that he didn’t want to actually stay on the ride. Good thing for us that we didn’t waste the spot and Mollie and Lucas jumped in the plane.
We usually just go to Sesame Place for the day, but this year we decided to spend the night at the Courtyard Philadelphia Langhorne, located just .3 miles from Sesame Place. The best part was that the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from Sesame Place that we were able to take back and forth.
There is a special deal online that you can pay $21.95 and get the second visit free (and it doesn’t have to be the next day). But if you do want to spend the night, I would recommend the Courtyard Philadelphia Langhorne

After spending the day at Sesame Place, the kids were super excited about going for a swim in mid November. I wasn’t so excited about the swimming part until I put my feet in the heated pool water (it was like bath water and was awesome!). We had a fun night swimming but worked up an appetite. We got the kids changed into pj’s and headed to the lobby area that had a neat fireplace and Bistro. The Bistro was very casual and the food came out really quick. We got pizza, sandwiches and some drinks for the adults.
The kids got to run around a little and play with the other kids staying at the hotel. I loved the fact that we didn’t have to leave the hotel to eat and that we didn’t have to dress for a restaurant. It was so relaxing to hanging out in the lobby.
The next morning, we ate breakfast at the Bistro and hung out at the hotel before heading home. It was the perfect little getaway and the kids really enjoyed celebrating the holiday with their favorite Sesame Characters.
