Spring into more Energy.. Why I need to Cleanse!


As most of you know, a year ago next week, I began my weight loss journey with the help of Nutrisystem (<–read story there). Now, after 9 months of being on the program and 3 months of eating in the real work, it’s time to again Spring into action with a cleanse. A few days ago, a friend of mine introduced me to diet and health program and how successful she has been on the program. She informed me that my body needs a cleanse (which I honestly that that since I don’t have any issues in that area, that this was unnecessary). I explained to my friend how I feel great after losing 50lbs on Nutrisystem, but I still don’t have a lot of energy. She explained how important it was for me to cleanse. But, it does cost some money to get started on one of these programs.

As I was working out a few nights ago at the YMCA, I was asking the woman next to me if she heard of this new program and what her thoughts were. She went on to explain how she usually does a fruit & veggie cleanse every couple months. All I need to do is eat fruit & veggies..Sounds easy until I thought about it more and broke it down into meals. I headed to my good friend Goole to see what I could find and found some really neat tips and recipes that I will share throughout the week.

Today was my prep day. So, today I headed to Sam’s club and $150 later, I think that I probably would have spent just about the same on Advocate.

I spent the day cutting, separating and freezing fruit. Most of the veggies that I bought are frozen, so they aren’t pictured. I have to tell you how much that I love my Good Cook Knife that worked awesome for cutting the fruit. Check out the picture below how the cantaloupe was so easy to cute and without much waste.

Since this is the first time for me doing something like this, I am so nervous. I know that going without some of my favorite foods will be hard, but I am more nervous about not having coffee. I just love my 3 cups of coffee a day. I guess that bedtime should be moved up a little during the next 7 days to make sure that I have the energy to get through the day. I am excited to see how this challenge works out and how I will feel at the end of the week.  I would love any advice or suggestions…feel free to share them in the comments.

  1. When I first started Advocare I was nervous about the same thing! Though nearly 3 weeks in and I feel great. So much more energy! The spark will help you through the coffee feel. It even has some caffeine in it and you can have 2 a day, so hopefully you won’t have a caffeine headache

    1. Thanks Vivian, I am actually just doing a natural cleanse with fruits and veggies. Thought about Advocare, but going to try this first. I know people LOVE Advocare.
